RS-232/422 to IEEE-488 Converter
The OMB-SER488A transparent interface enables a device with either RS-232/422 or IEEE-488 to communicate with another device having the alternate interface. For example, an IEEE RS422 controller can communicate with an RS-232 printer or plotter via the OMB-SER-488A. Conversely, the OMB-SER-488A will enable a computers RS-232 port to communicate with an IEEE printer or plotter. Built into the OMB-SER-488A is a 32,000-character data buffer, which eliminates the need for the host computer to wait for slow devices to accept the data. Also, available is a converter with a 512K data buffer.
